and
after
you have crushed the mountains
to fuel the generators to make the world go
‘round – tickety tock, tickety tock –
and every person has a job, has a niche, has no face
but a place and a number
to turn the cog and tread the mill –
when all that can’t be done has been done
just to be done;
what will you do for an encore?
